Those rather good burgers on 12th St. are gone. Oh well. Now we can all go to the new Umami Burger on 6th Ave. at 10th St.
Mid block between 5th and 6th Aves. will be the local of a new 133-room hotel. It’ll be interesting to see how they squeeze it in. Here are the details.

Union Square will host its first-ever Night Market by Urbanspace. Union Square is no stranger to Urbanspace, as the company is responsible for putting on the park’s beloved annual Holiday Market. However, this will be the first time Urbanspace will operate an open-air food market during summer nights.
The Union Square Night Market will run for four Thursdays, starting July 11th. More than 20 vendors will come together to bring New Yorkers some of the best bites in the city. It will all take place along the South Plaza of Union Square Park.
So whether you’re interested in grabbing something to eat on your summer commute home or planning a date night, the Union Square Night Market will serve as the perfect venue for either!
Next week (April 8 to April 12), material and equipment deliveries and installation work will continue on all floors inside the building as well as roof work. We will be work on the new sidewalks around the building as well and plan on completing the 14th street side by the end of the week.
The following week (April 15 to April 19), material and equipment deliveries and installation work will continue on all floors and roofs as well as sidewalk work. Additionally we plan to begin removing the sidewalk shed along 5th ave.
This weekend the site will be open on Saturday, April 6th for interior, superstructure, sidewalk, and hoist removal related activities between the work hours of 7AM and 5PM as permitted by the City.
