BlueWater Grill Faces Massive Rent Hike

It’s the moment we’ve all been waiting for, New York is coming back! The neighborhood is more fun now that crazy chef Eddie Huang’s Baohaus 2 is open on 14th between 2nd and 3rd. A bao is a little Chinese sandwich usually stuffed with some kind of pork. The inventive and very funny Huang, who has Taiwanese roots, is making many variations on the theme, plus coming up with all kinds of other funky Chinese home cooking. Check it out.

It’s coming this fall, as part of a revamp once the Q train is redirected onto the new 2nd Ave. line.

Next week (October 21st to October 25th), material and equipment deliveries and installation work will continue on the academic floors inside the building and we anticipate paving on 5th Ave.

The following week (October 28th to November 1st), material and equipment deliveries and installation work will continue on academic floors.

This weekend the site will be open on Saturday, October 19th for interior activities between the work hours of 7AM and 5PM as permitted by the City.

Public Space Activations: This summer, USP is rolling
out new seating areas, enhanced landscaping, the
second annual mural along the 14th Street Busway,
and hosting an Oonee Pod Mini, a prototype for safe
bike storage.

Park Upgrades: In partnership with NYC Parks, USP
will develop a Union Square Park infrastructure
plan that includes upgraded utilities, irrigation, and
bathrooms amenities, as well as a preservation plan
of the entire district’s tree canopy.

Since January 2021, 46 new businesses have opened in and around Union Square.
