The Greenwich Village Society for Historic Preservation has been doing some reconnaissance to find out what exactly developer Billy Macklowe has planned for his new condo building that will replace Village icon Bowlmor Lanes, and what they’ve found has not heartened them: “[The building] will take the form of a short base with retail uses coming out to the streetwall, and a very tall, narrow, residential tower rising above it. At approximately 308 feet in height, this will be one of the tallest, if not the tallest, buildings in the Village. Apparently Mr. Macklowe has told elected officials that the building will be limestone rather than glass or steel

  • Latest New School Construction Update

    Next week (February 18 to February 22), material and equipment deliveries and installation work will continue on all floors inside the building as well as roof work. Additionally we will begin work on the new sidewalks around the building. The sidewalk shed on 14th st. is scheduled to begin dismantling, pending construction progress. The site will be closed on Monday, February 18th, for the holiday.

    The following week (February 25 to March 1), Material and equipment deliveries and installation work will continue on all floors and roofs as well as sidewalk work.

  • Reminder: Shareholder’s Meeting Tomorrow

    The annual shareholder’s meeting will take place on Wednesday June 30th at 7PM at the Seafarers’ and Interational House at 123 East 15th St, second floor.

    At the meeting, the Board of Directors will be seeking at least one new member. The Board will also welcome nominations at the meeting itself.

    Next week, 03/04/2013 – 03/08/2013 Material and equipment deliveries and installation work will continue on all floors inside the building. Roof work, work on the new sidewalks around the building, and the dismantling of the construction hoist on the building exterior will also continue.

    The following week, 03/11/2013 – 03/15/2013 Material and equipment deliveries and installation work will continue on all floors and roofs. Sidewalk work and dismantling of the construction hoist on the building exterior will also continue.

    We anticipate the take down of the 14th Street sidewalk shed to begin within the next 2 weeks.
