Pier One Imports to Close

Here on 13th St., ten-year-old Korean restaurant DoSirak has closed, while across the street in our building, BAK has opened. As it turns out, the BAK folks are the DoSirak folks, so all is well. Kimchi for all.

Well, that was quick. Our downstairs neighbor Spiderbands went defunct quickly.

Sausage Inc. has opened the doomed space on University between 12th and 13th that has housed a bakery, a Philly Cheesesteak shop and Wok New York.

Check out the new Time Out food hall when it opens at 14th. St east of the park on September 26. Will a new food hall succeed in a location where the previous food hall failed? We’ll see.

You may remember The Adore on the 13th St. block. Now, a couple of doors down at the former site of the copy shop and, briefly, Blossom de Jour, will be a new French/Japanese bakery called Patisserie Fouet.

The retail retreat continues. MAC Cosmetics is gone from its 14th St. perch near Broadway.
