Union Square Holiday Market Cancelled
COVID strikes again. No holiday market this year. You’ll have to travel up to Bryant Park to pick up your scented candles and knitted mittens.
The sausage spot on University between 12th and 13th is about to become Bambootori, a Japanese yakitori joint.

Union Square Park has new and improved free Wi-Fi. The service can accommodate up to 250 people simultaneously using wireless devices, from laptop computers to iPhones and other P.D.A.’s. Two Altai A8 antennas are situated on rooftops at the park’s north and south ends, providing coverage to users in the park, as well as the surrounding area There’s also a local community portal Web page with event listings and recommendations on places to dine and shop.

This weekend the site will be open on Saturday, December 8th for interior superstructure related activities between the work hours of 7AM and 5PM as permitted by the City.
Early rumors suggest that Union Square will become the center of Occupy-related protests on May 1.
The last piece of structural steel has been installed at the top of the New School building.
