Popeye’s and its famous chicken sandwich have landed on the corner of University Place and 14th St.

Gothamist reports that Nordstrom is very close to signing on to take over the Virgin Megastore space to install one of its discount Nordstrom Rack stores. Sounds fine, although some bloggers would much rather have a Target there.

They pretended like they would be back, but vegan-friendly Blossom du Jour on our block of 13th St. is done.

This image looks southeast from the park toward the intersection of 14th St. and 4th Ave. in 1922, almost exactly 100 years ago. Note that at the time, the statue of George Washington stood at that corner.
