Boba for All
Soon to arrive on University Place, our first boba tea shop. Soon we’ll bey trying He He Cha.
Here on 13th St., ten-year-old Korean restaurant DoSirak has closed, while across the street in our building, BAK has opened. As it turns out, the BAK folks are the DoSirak folks, so all is well. Kimchi for all.
Next week (June 24 to June 28), material and equipment deliveries and installation work will continue on all floors inside the building. Additionally we will be working on the roofs of the building.
The following week (July 1 to July 5), material and equipment deliveries and installation work will continue on all floors as well as sidewalk work.
We were going to announce the opening of the Union Square Holiday Market today, but it’s been open for over a week already. Christmas comes earlier every year. Our advice: go midday. At night it’s an agita-inducing mosh pit.
The magazine shop and discount store on the north side of 14th west of 5th are both gone. What is next?
This rather fascinating report on pedestrian foot traffic in the area reveals that sidewalk crowds are up 53% in the past five years. If you’ve ever walked past Whole Foods at 6 PM, this will come as no surprise. In fact, Whole Foods is probably mainly responsible for the surge.
