Borgo Antico = City Tavern
Goodbye Borgo Antico on 13th across from our front door. It’s turned into City Tavern, a rather uninteresting bar with regular old bar food.
From January 16-February 16, the north end of Union Square will light up with a nightly light show called Bright Nights Out, and many vendors are offering fun deals to accompany it.
Shoo Loong Kan, a Chinese hot pot restaurant will soon arrive on 13th St. in the space that old timers will fondly remember as Borgo Antico. (The name means little dragon ridge.) The chain already has locations in Chicago, Houston, and Flushing.
This wonderful interactive map lets you explore the history of most of the buildings in our neighborhood.
It’s been a while, but our site is up and running again, and we hope to make it fun and informative.

Le Petit Belge finally closed on 14th St. So much for classing up the neighborhood.
