Due to city budget cuts, this year’s gay pride parade will be a mile shorter than in previous years. That means the usual big crowds along 5th Ave in the Village are going to be even that much bigger. Brace yourself.

Sad to see that Patisserie Fouet on 13th St. is no more. It closed suddenly and without much explanation. Perhaps an end-of-year lease situation. They do have another location at 776 9th Ave at 52nd St.

You’ve surely noticed the water main repairs happening along 13th St. This will lead to water shutoffs at 830AM for up to five hours on Tuesday the 12th and Thursday the 14th, and perhaps other times.

Another dry cleaning option has arrived. Young Cleaners is located on University Place between 12th and 13th St.

Shanghai Square, the new Chinese restaurant slated to replace Izu/Lemongrass Grill on our 13th St. side has released its menu. First reaction: it’s aggressively boring. There appears to be nothing on it that suggests this will be anything other than another run-of-the-mill Chinese.
