Next week (December 5 to December 9), DOT approved street connections to underground utilities on Fifth Avenue will continue. Superstructure work will continue at 1st and 2nd floor levels. Sidewalk sheds will continue being erected around the perimeter of the site. The following week (December 12 to December 16), we will continue superstructure concrete and slabs. Street utility connection work will continue.

This weekend the site will be open on Saturday, December 3rd for superstructure related activities between the work hours of 7AM and 5PM as permitted by the City.

This hand-drawn map from 1926 identifies our building as a 5 and 10-cent store, which, of course, as Woolworths, it was, all the way until 2003.

Next week (April 8 to April 12), material and equipment deliveries and installation work will continue on all floors inside the building as well as roof work. We will be work on the new sidewalks around the building as well and plan on completing the 14th street side by the end of the week.

The following week (April 15 to April 19), material and equipment deliveries and installation work will continue on all floors and roofs as well as sidewalk work. Additionally we plan to begin removing the sidewalk shed along 5th ave.

This weekend the site will be open on Saturday, April 6th for interior, superstructure, sidewalk, and hoist removal related activities between the work hours of 7AM and 5PM as permitted by the City.

Japanese megastore UNIQLO has finally arrived at the northwest corner of Union Square in the former PETCO location. It was also the location of one of the final versions of Andy Warhol’s factory. Stop by to see some special Union Square themed T-shirts.

Goodbye Borgo Antico on 13th across from our front door. It’s turned into City Tavern, a rather uninteresting bar with regular old bar food.
