34 Union Square East will become a 12-story residential building. Designed by INPUT for MSH Equities LLC, the 124-foot-tall structure will yield 29 condominium units with an average scope of 1,013 square feet. The project will also include 1,555 square feet of ground floor retail.

Union Square’s BlueWater Grill may be gone as of next fall because the landlord, the same guy who priced Union Square Cafe out of the neighborhood, is at it again.
Sounds like the long-vacant restaurant space on the west side of University between 11th and 12th (next to Grey Dog) will soon become a 66-seat Thai restaurant.
Soon to occupy the former Forbidden Planet space is Zumiez, a store with all the latest skateboard fashions.
Our new downstairs neighbor on the 14th St. side is Anderson’s Martial Arts Academy. So head downstairs and kick some butt.
