Latest New School Construction Update
ByDonNext week (November 4th to November 8th ), material and equipment deliveries and installation work will continue on the academic floors inside the building.
The following week (November 11th to November 15th), material and equipment deliveries and installation work will continue on academic floors.
This weekend the site will be open on Saturday and Sunday, November 2nd and 3rd for interior activities between the work hours of 7AM and 5PM as permitted by the City.
Latest New School Construction Update
ByDonNext week (September 17 to September 21), Material and equipment deliveries and installation work will continue on all floors. Curtain wall installation on upper floors will continue. Curtain wall installation on the lower floors will proceed along 5th ave inside the construction site. To aid in the installation of the lower level curtain wall a crane will be arriving on site Monday, the 17th. The crane will be inside the construction perimeter and will not affect pedestrian or automotive traffic.
The following week (September 17 to September 21) Material and equipment deliveries and installation work will continue on all floors. Curtain wall installation will continue on all floors. Curtain wall installation on the lower floors will proceed along 5th ave inside the construction site.
This weekend the site will be open on Saturday, September 15th for superstructure related activities and curtain wall installation between the work hours of 7AM and 5PM as permitted by the City. Con Ed is on site working on the building but is not in any of the streets.

ByDonThe rumor is quashed. Walmart may be looking at 6th Ave. but has no interest in Union Square according to the Daily News.
Portuguese Films in Union Sq. Park
ByDonUnion Square Park will be home to New York’s first Portuguese Film Festival sponsored by the Arte Institute, kicking off Thursday, June 2. The event is “the first of its kind in the United States,” and will screen twenty short films directed by Portuguese citizens – many of whom who have already earned European prizes or have been selected to Festivals such as Cannes. The films will be screened first at The Anthology Film Archives and the main Festival will be held at Union Square Park (North Pavilion). Admission is free at the Union Square Park screening although seats need to be reserved in advance.
The Festival will simultaneously take place in Lisbon at Auditorio Carlos on the same dates (June 2-3).
