Zen Palate Is Back

Closed at the corner of 13th and 6th. Probably because for take out, the food was too pricey. Wonder what will fill that cursed space next.

This time it’s for real. Maybe. On Thursday, the 14th St. Busway will go live, bringing with it an unknown amount of change and perhaps chaos the neighborhood. Once it’s in effect, the Busway will mean that the only way to get crosstown westbound without interruption will be on 13th St. since neither 11th St. nor 15th St. cut across town uninterrupted. Will 13th St. become a nightmare? We shall soon see.

Everybody loves Artichoke Pizza on East 14th, but the wait is too long.

On Saturdays Aug. 3, 10, and 17th, enjoy 8 hours of car free streets on Park Avenue S, Union Sq E and 4th Ave, with countless programs and activities from 7AM to 3PM. Summer Streets provides space for healthy recreation and encourages New Yorkers to use more sustainable forms of transportation.

Yet another single-dish restaurant opened its doors over the weekend: The Nugget Spot. Besides the expected chicken nuggets, this fast-casual joint also offers pork, fish, cauliflower, and mozzarella nuggets. There are also four different breading options, which range from coconut to Cheeze-it, and a long list of dipping sauces to go with. There are also a few sides, and the restaurant does serve beer, but only Budweiser at this point. Status: Certified Open. 230 E 14th St., 646-422-7426.
