When the new Hyatt Hotel opens on 4th Ave. and 13 St. on January 2, it will feature The Fourth, a breakfast, lunch, and dinner bistro on the ground floor.

The annual holiday market runs till 8PM nightly (7PM on Sunday) through 4PM on Christmas Eve.

Communication network City24/7 launched its first “SmartScreens” booths today at ten locations around Union Square. The 32-inch touch screens are affixed to phone booths, and provide users with location-based local news, transit updates, current events, and entertainment listings like restaurants and shops for free. In the wake of Hurricane Sandy, the system is also providing information on volunteer opportunities. Over the next few months, a total of 250 screens will be installed throughout the city. The ATM-strength screens can withstand extreme weather, and they include back-up batteries if power is lost. City24/7 is responsible for the installation and upkeep for the booths, which also have free wifi.

Next week (November 19 to November 23), Material and equipment deliveries and installation work will continue on all floors. Curtain wall installation on the lower floors along 14th st. has been completed and the crane has left the job. The site will be closed on the 22nd for the holiday but will be open Friday the 23rd and Saturday the 24th.

The following week (November 26 to November 30) Material and equipment deliveries and installation work will continue on all floors.

This weekend the site will be open on Saturday, November 17th for interior related activities between the work hours of 7AM and 5PM as permitted by the City. Con Ed will be working in the street.

Next week (November 12 to November 16), Material and equipment deliveries and installation work will continue on all floors. Curtain wall installation on the lower floors will proceed along 14th st. inside the construction site. The crane that is on site will remain for the duration of curtain wall installation and will not affect pedestrian or automotive traffic.

The following week (November 19 to November 23) Material and equipment deliveries and installation work will continue on all floors. Curtain wall installation on the lower floors will proceed along 14th st. inside the construction site. The site will be closed on November 22 for the holiday.

This weekend the site will be open on Saturday, November 17th for superstructure related activities and curtain wall installation between the work hours of 7AM and 5PM as permitted by the City. Con Ed will be working in the street.
