French country fare in the space formerly occupied by Bak Kitchen in our building on 13th St.

Any day now, in the space formerly occupied by The Adore on 13th.

The former East West Bookstore on 5th Ave between 13th and `14th will soon open as Human Food, an upscale takeout place with vegan and “paleo” offerings.

Next week (October 1 to October 5), Material and equipment deliveries and installation work will continue on all floors. Curtain wall installation on upper floors will continue. Curtain wall installation on the lower floors will proceed along 5th ave inside the construction site. The crane that is on site will remain for the duration of curtain wall installation and will not affect pedestrian or automotive traffic.

The following week (October 8 to October 12) Material and equipment deliveries and installation work will continue on all floors. Curtain wall installation will continue on all floors. Curtain wall installation on the lower floors will proceed along 5th ave inside the construction site. The site will be open on Monday the 8th.

This weekend the site will be open on Saturday, September 29th for superstructure related activities and curtain wall installation between the work hours of 7AM and 5PM as permitted by the City. Con Ed is on site working in the street at 14th Street and 5 Avenue.

Next week (September 24 to September 28), Material and equipment deliveries and installation work will continue on all floors. Curtain wall installation on the upper floors will continue. Curtain wall installation on the lower floors will proceed along 5th ave inside the construction site. Sad news from University Place, where the University Diner, one of the last of its kind, is closing today. One can only wonder what will appear in its place, not to mention what will appear at the corner of University and 13th and the corner of Broadway and 14th. The malling of the neighborhood continues.

The City Tavern across 13th St. has closed.

The sausage spot on University between 12th and 13th is about to become Bambootori, a Japanese yakitori joint.

To aid in the installation of the lower level curtain wall a crane will be arriving on site Monday, the 17th. The crane will be inside the construction perimeter and will not affect pedestrian or automotive traffic.
